Skulptur im Neuen Museum Nürnberg, Ausstellung "Momentum", SZ, 2023

Die Skulptur „Resonanz“ im Neuen Museum Nürnberg greift Form und Proportion der Wendeltreppe auf und übersetzt sie in fragmentierte Kreissegmente aus Sandbaustein. Die Installation verbindet Skulptur und Architektur räumlich wie formal und macht verborgene Strukturen sichtbar. Zugleich thematisiert sie die ökologische Problematik der Betonherstellung: Zement verursacht enorme CO₂-Emissionen und der weltweite Sandabbau zerstört Ökosysteme. Zoches biologisch abbaubarer Binder, mit dem sie vor Ort etwa 5 Tonnen Sandbausteine hergestellt hat, ermöglicht eine klimafreundlichere Alternative – sogar mit Wüstensand.

The sculpture, ‘Resonance’, at the Neues Museum Nuremberg takes up the form and proportions of the spiral staircase and translates them into fragmented circular segments made of sandstone. The installation combines sculpture and architecture both spatially and formally, revealing hidden structures. At the same time, it addresses the ecological problems of concrete production: cement causes enormous CO₂ emissions and global sand mining destroys ecosystems. Zocha's biodegradable binder, which she used to produce around 5 tonnes of sandstone bricks on site, offers a more climate-friendly alternative – even with desert sand.
